Oil Furnaces

While natural gas models have become the most common type of furnace used in the United States, Oil Furnaces are still installed. An oil system heats your home in much the same way as a natural gas model. Instead of natural gas, it uses fuel oil for combustion to generate heat which is distributed to your home’s living spaces through ductwork. Because an oil fire burns hotter than other fuel sources, oil furnaces can heat up your home quickly and can easily maintain your comfort when the temperature drops outside.

Our oil furnaces use no.2 fuel oil burned in a sealed chamber to heat an exchanger.  Just like gas furnaces, oil furnaces also carry AFUE ratings and start at 80% AFUE.

To maintain your oil furnace and keep it running efficiently, we recommend yearly furnace maintenance from our trained HVAC professional. As grime and carbon soot build up over time, it makes your furnace work harder, causing strain on components and increasing your energy costs. At a minimum, it should be cleaned at the beginning of each heating season, but repeating the process mid-year will help keep your furnace in peak condition and help prevent future problems.
